Modern Slavery Statement

Our legal position

Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 requires a statement from commercial organisations with an annual turnover of £36 million or more. Secure Select Ltd is well below that threshold, so we are not required to publish one. We publish this statement voluntarily, because clients ask and because we think the answer should be on the record either way.

Our business and supply chain

We are a UK cybersecurity consultancy based in Cardiff. We have no manufacturing, no overseas operations and no labour-intensive supply chain. What we buy falls into three groups: computing hardware, bought from manufacturers and their authorised UK resellers; software and cloud infrastructure, bought from established vendors; and professional services such as accountancy, insurance and specialist delivery partners.

We consider the risk of modern slavery or human trafficking occurring within our own business to be very low. The risk in our supply chain sits where it sits for any buyer of consumer electronics, which is in the extended manufacturing chain of the hardware we purchase, several tiers removed from us and beyond our direct influence as a small purchaser.

What we actually do

We would rather describe a small number of real steps than claim a programme we do not run. In practice that means the following.

  • We buy hardware from manufacturers and authorised resellers who publish their own modern slavery statements, rather than from unknown intermediaries.
  • Everyone who works for or with us is paid at or above the statutory minimum, is free to leave, and holds their own documents. We use no labour providers, agencies or unpaid labour.
  • Where we bring in a delivery partner, we check they are a registered UK business in good standing before any client work is passed to them.
  • Any concern about modern slavery in our business or supply chain can be raised with the director at [email protected], and will be looked into. Nobody raising a concern in good faith will be penalised for it.

We do not currently operate a formal supplier audit programme or a written supplier code of conduct. At our size that would be a document rather than a control, and we would rather say so than imply an assurance process we do not have. We will introduce one as the business and its supply chain grow.
